I Like Me…Do You Like You?!

I have a new book coming out soon talking about the years I spent dealing with insecurity, the bad choices I made because of it, and finally my freedom from it.  I never felt good enough and didn’t like the personality I had. I wanted to be quiet and shy, but instead was bold, bossy, and strongwilled!!  LOL!  I hated being me, yet it was exactly the way God made me to be (with some refining, of course).

Insecurity is so crippling and disabling.  It limits you and never allows you to just be who you are...AND LIKE who you are!  Often times insecure people try to be something they’re not.  Always trying on new masks…hoping to be accepted.

Insecurity and inferiority derive from fear.  It’s a scheme and strategy of the devil to keep you down and defeated and never tapping into your full potential.  HOWEVER...When a child of God finds out who they are in Christ, then freedom comes to be all God created YOU to be.  Getting in God’s Word is the only way to FIND out the truth.

Psalms 139:13-14

13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.

15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.

There are no accidents or mistakes with God.  He is pleased with his creation…YOU!  He loves you, but not only that...he LIKES you!  You are unique with your own giftings and talents.  I have traits like my dad and look like my mom...but there is only one ME!  And there is only ONE YOU in the whole entire world!  Isn't that amazing to think about?!  You are a masterpiece!

Its’s the greatest and most freeing feeling when you finally are able to just embrace who you are.  I now can boldly say, I LIKE ME!  Don’t focus on the flaws...focus on your strengths and your giftings.

Philippians 1:6 says “BEING CONFIDENT of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Don’t go another day allowing the devil to keep you defeated with insecurity.  Rise above and be who you are called to BE!  Be Confident!

You are BEAUTIFUL...you are SPECIAL...you are VALUED...you are ONE OF A KIND!
