Have you ever had those days when you just felt BLAH with no motivation, zero zeal, and depleted of passion? Boy, I know I have and I’ve thought “What is wrong with me?!” The best way I know how to get over that, is get in God’s Word and let it revive (to become strong, active, or healthy again) my soul. When you are in the state of feeling "BLAH" You may be thinking, “I don’t want to do that. I just want to sit here and do nothing.” I know that feeling, but you have to make yourself pick up your Bible and just begin reading. Don’t dwell on what’s not happening or your feelings, instead let His Word saturate the inside of you.
When I start feeling overwhelmed, stressed out, fearful, or whatever other emotion is trying to take over, I realize I’m trying to figure things out on my own and I’m not plugged into the Holy Spirit, my Source...for everything I need. Without Him directing me in my life, then that’s when I begin to feel overwhelmed. I’ve learned the hard way, every time I try to control things in my life, I just make a mess of it. So why do I continually go back to trying to do it myself? Not abiding. “What does that mean?!”
I’m glad you asked...
In John 15 Jesus is talking and says, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”
Listen to the Message translation: “Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you...you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon.”
It’s very plain to see, you must abide (make yourself at home with Him). You can’t visit Him every once in a while...you must dwell in His presence. Your home is your safe place. It is where you let your hair down and feel most comfortable. Spiritually speaking, your relationship with Jesus needs to become your safe place...your place of comfort.
Don’t disconnect from Jesus in hard times, live in Him, abide in Him, and stay united with Him at all times! There is Life in His Words! Power comes when you stay connected to your power source...Jesus!
Joy becomes your strength in hard times when you abide in Him.
Peace fills your mind when you reside in Him.
Strength surrounds you when you dwell in Him.
The verse above says when you abide (remain, continue, stay) in Him, YOU CAN BE SURE WHATEVER YOU ASK WILL BE LISTENED TO AND ACTED UPON!! Wow! That is awesome! Why...Why...Why...Do we ever try to do it alone?!
So, my remedy for feeling Blah is plugging back in and recharging myself in God’s Word and His promises for my life! I’m encouraging you to let His Word do the same for you today...
No more blah!
