Recently I went through something that I expected to go a certain way and it just didn’t.  I felt disappointment trying to creep in.  I started thinking, “I did everything right, why is this not going the way I thought it would?”  Then the all the “Whys?” start popping up and suddenly I find myself sitting right in the middle of discouragement.  (Exactly where the devil wanted me to be in this situation.)

It’s times like this, you truly find out what you’re made of...will I go with my emotions and feelings or will I trust God and use my faith to move forward despite the discouragement and disappointment I’m experiencing at the moment?  We’ve never been promised an easy and perfect life as a Christian, BUT we have been given the tools and knowledge on how to fight “feelings” during the hard times, while still experiencing God’s comfort, and eventually seeing victory as our final outcome (if we don’t give up)!!

First and foremost, you must know without a doubt, that God loves you, He wants the best for you, and He is in control...and never question that!

Second, is stop worrying and trying to figure out everything on your own.  That’s what faith is all about, trusting in something you cannot see (Hebrews 11:1).  You’ve probably heard that saying, “Let Go and Let God.”  That’s exactly what you have to do! He’s got this, now let Him take care of this situation...He doesn’t need your help!

Third, is knowing that God has the perfect timing for everything.  We want things NOW, but God might be saying, “WAIT.”  Stay hopeful and confident in His timing!

Don’t let discouragement have the final say...How about you decide and make the choice right now to turn the discouragement around to EXPECTANCY!

Expect God to act in your behalf!

Expect God’s favor on your life!

Expect God’s blessing in this situation!

Be discouraged or stay expectant?  The choice is yours!

And let us not get tired of doing what is right,

for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing

if we don’t get discouraged and give up

Galatians 6:9

But, O my soul, don’t be discouraged. Don’t be upset.

Expect God to act!

For I know that I shall again have plenty of reason

to praise him for all that he will do.

He is my help! He is my God!

Psalm 42:11
