It’s so easy to be thankful when everything is going right and just the way you want it, but what about when the storms of life have hit…what will you do? Cry, Complain, Cuss? Or praise Him anyway? That’s the real test.
When you’re counting pennies for food…
When you’re believing for a job and nothing has opened up yet…
When you’re praying for your children and they’re still out of control…
Do you REALLY believe God will come through or will your faith be shaken? The devil hopes the more pressure he puts on you, he will eventually get you to put your armor down(Ephesians 6) and forfeit the battle through discouragement, doubt, and eventually unbelief!
When you really become aware of his tactics and schemes, it will make you want to fight him even harder and win! Thankfully you are not fighting this battle alone…it may not feel like it right now, but God IS in control! When anxiety and fear try to bombard your mind, IMMEDIATELY lift your hands and begin thanking God right in the middle of the pressure! You confuse the devil when you CONTINUE to praise God! It doesn’t make sense to your mind. Your emotions want to be in control by feeling sorry for yourself and having a pity party…you might be thinking, “I’m a good person. I don’t deserve this. I go to church, read my Bible, pray and tithe and yet nothing is working!” Don’t yield to that, like I said…just begin to praise and thank Him IN ADVANCE for what is about to happen.
Let me tell you something though, you can’t just recite scriptures and declarations with no faith behind them. Faith must be mixed with your words! Remember it is the substance of things “hoped for” and the evidence of things not seen (Heb. 11:1). There is hope in your words! Faith always speaks with expectancy!
Get control of your thought life the second it wants to take you down Depression Lane…get your self back on the road headed to Victory Street…you can win! Don’t ever quit and don’t ever give up - just praise Him in the storm!
Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]. Ephesians 6:13
