Freedom Day!
I went to bed with this on my mind and have to get it out...I know it’s for someone!
There’s that “thing” you’ve struggled with for years or maybe even decades of your life. It’s hounded you, nagged you, and even controlled you at times. You might get some relief from it from time to time, but then it rears its ugly head again!
You’ve cried out to God in frustration and desperation and wondered “where are you in all of this?” He’s there and He’s promised a way of escape from:
Anxiety
Fear
Depression
Eating disorders
Sexual addiction
Cutting/self mutilation
Rejection
OCD
Drugs/Alcohol/Nicotine
Low self-esteem
Anger
Today is your freedom day!
First off, identify that “thing.” Maybe it’s on the list above, maybe it’s not...but you know what it is. Maybe it’s more than one “thing.” Now tell “it” that it must bow and surrender to the name of Jesus!
Now I want you to read the below scripture slowly and often, until you believe it.
Thirdly, I want you to be vigilantly on guard and prepared spiritually when that “thing” tries to show up. Usually the Holy Spirit sends out a warning before hand—don’t ignore it! Run as fast as you can in the opposite direction of that “thing.”
Stay away from situations that would cause you to fall in the trap again.
If it’s pornography — put controls, alerts on all your devices.
If it’s over-eating—get the wrong foods out of your house, have someone else do your grocery shopping, and don’t stop at that favorite fast food.
Do WHATEVER it takes to be FREE and stay FREE. Don’t ever think, “I’ve got this. I can handle it.” You’ve already proven you can’t on your own—you need JESUS!!
And fourthly, say out loud OFTEN , “I AM FREE FROM ____!” You believe yourself, more than anyone else!
Now read this scripture, absorb it, and begin to walk in your freedom TODAY!!
“For no temptation (no trial regarded as enticing to sin), [no matter how it comes or where it leads] has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not adjusted and adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear]. But God is faithful [to His Word and to His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out (the means of escape to a landing place), that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently.”
