Jerriann Savelle shares that God’s love is not touchy, fretful, or resentful!
God’s Love…”It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].”
1 Corinthians 13:5 AMPC

No More Regret!
Insecure and fragile is what I see when I look at my 17 year old self.
I had no idea what was to come—failed marriages, 6 kids, many mistakes, and lots of heartache.
(But thankfully that’s not the end of my story!)
There was a time I couldn’t look at old pictures without a sense of regret sweeping over me.
Regret is an ugly word. It tries to taunt you with:
Seek Wisdom...
When I’m faced with making a difficult decision I first go the Word and seek wisdom (read Prov. 2:6 below), and don’t make any sudden decisions until I’ve found peace in the situation.
Of course I’ve disciplined myself to do this now, because I’ve learned the hard way— making a decision without God’s wisdom has usually led to compromise, disaster, or emotion-led results...and that’s not a good place!
What lens are you looking through?
We all have a lens that we look at life through—that lens is developed throughout your life from your upbringing, environment and experiences.
My lens was rejection—I related everything through that lens, often feeling left out, not wanted, not good enough, ignored or abandoned! And every thought filtered through that lens—it was an exhausting way to live!
Occasionally I catch my thoughts still trying to go in that direction, but I’ve learned to filter EVERY thought through the Word and make it obedient to Christ! (Read II Corinthians 10:5)
Rather than picking up my rejection lenses, I see what the Word says first about me—and I think that thought instead!
Freedom Day!
I went to bed with this on my mind and have to get it out...I know it’s for someone!
There’s that “thing” you’ve struggled with for years or maybe even decades of your life. It’s hounded you, nagged you, and even controlled you at times. You might get some relief from it from time to time, but then it rears its ugly head again!
You’ve cried out to God in frustration and desperation and wondered “where are you in all of this?” He’s there and He’s promised a way of escape from:
Watch Those Weeds!
I have this large flower bed in my front yard that has been neglected for quite some time, it seems other things have just taken precedence in my life! But every day I pull into my driveway it’s an eyesore to me — so one day I got my boys out there and we can began to pull weeds. With several of us doing it, it didn’t take us too long. Then I went and bought some perennials, that I wouldn’t have to mess with that much, in hopes that they would grow without a lot of maintenance.
Don't Forget Who You Are!
When you get a true revelation of WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST…you will NEVER let the enemy torment you again with insecurity, fear, worthlessness, or rejection!
You are so loved by God that He sent His Son to die on the cross for you! — that makes you righteous, worthy, and valued!
Your thought life is so important in either accepting or rejecting the lies the enemy tries to plant in your head— he can’t tell you what to think, but he can plant seeds of fear, worry, doubt, discouragement, anger, etc., — your the one that decides what you do with those seeds — plant them and let it grow — or reject them and throw them out!
A Work In Progress!
We are all still a work in progress, no one has arrived! Yet, the devil will try and make you feel like “you never get it right,” or tell you, “how could you mess up so bad, you should know better by now.”
My advice to you: DON’T LISTEN TO HIM and don’t be so hard on yourself! He is the Father of lies and there is no truth in Him (Read John 8:44.) I fell into his trap for many, many years of my life - low self-esteem and insecurity controlled by thoughts, rejection and feeling less than dominated by mind.
